  1. Please read the general rules for Domestic Arts.
  2. Exhibits must be plainly labeled with the correct name. All containers and accessories must be marked on the bottom with the owner’s name.
  3. All exhibits are subject to placing by the Superintendent and/or assistants.
  4. All plants and cut flowers must have been grown by the exhibitor-amateurs only (with the exception of #497).
  5. Judging Criteria: 25%—Condition of entry; 25%—Culture; 25%—Stem; and 25%—Arrangement. Condition of the entry means that the flowers are in the proper stage of maturity to show well; i.e., Free of wilt. Culture means that the flowers have a healthy appearance and are free from insect injury and disease. Stem means that the stem should have good strength.
  6. Cut flowers in bouquet should be cut with plenty of stem and leaves and brought in a suitable container which has been arranged properly. Bouquet must contain at least six (6) stalks, except as noted. Use of plastic flowers and leaves is prohibited.
  7. Suggestions for making arrangements: 1) Cut plants no earlier than the day before showing, preferably after sundown; 2) Cut stems at an angle with a sharp knife and place in water immediately; 3) Store in cool place; 4) Use a good holder well anchored in the base, e.g., needle point holders are good all purpose holders.
  8. Premiums in classes: 1st-$4.50, 2nd-$4.00, 3rd-$3.50
  9. "C" Denotes 1st-$5.00, 2nd-$4.50, 3rd-$4.00
  10. "D" Denotes 1st-$4.50, 2nd-$4.00, 3rd-$3.50, 4th-$3.00
  11. "E" Denotes $10.00 and a ribbon.
  12. ENTRY FEE: fifty cents.
