Rules:

1. Please read the general rules for Domestic Arts.

2. A "Display" cannot be made from a single entry, but must be entered the same as a single exhibit.

3. The jars and lids in each "Display" must be uniform or the exhibit will not be judged. Entries for Vegetables, Fruit, Meat, Pickles, and Relishes should be in PINT JARS WITH NEW LIDS AND RINGS.

4. All jams, jellies, and preserves containers must be sealed or paraffined. Pint jars should be used for jams and preserves, jelly glasses for jellies.

5. After passing an appearance test, the jars may be opened and the contents inspected and tasted by the judge. The entry will be disqualified if spoiled or if mold is present.

6. All exhibits must be canned from fresh fruit and vegetables; no recanning from commercially prepared foods.

7. Superintendents reserve the right to disqualify any or all jars if age is questionable.

8. Exhibits must be labeled as to variety, kind and date of canning. Labels must be uniform, neat and placed 1/2 to 1 in. from bottom of the jar. Exhibits must have been canned within the past calendar year.

9. Compliance with USDA guidelines is recommended and judge may use this as criteria for placement. Call local extension office for information.

10. Premiums in classes: 1st-$5.00, 2nd-$4.00, 3rd-$3.00
